What is an eLearning Day? An elearning day allows students to access instruction via an online environment. Students are not physically in attendance at the school building but access content over the internet much like virtual schools. This provides experiences utilizing online learning and resources that teach skills to help students be successful functioning in an online learning environment.
In order for an eLearning day to occur, teachers must first deliver their content online. They are responsible for designing and implementing the instruction of the standards pertinent to their teaching assignment. Teachers are expected to design engaging instructional activities to continue student progress as if they were in class that day but using an innovative online instructional approach.
While the students are at home learning virtually, staff members are in the building participating in professional development. During this time staff members from teachers to bus drivers are able to complete a variety of tasks that are vital to the success of the district. Also during this time teachers are available to offer support to their students. Teachers are available through e-mail, phone, or in person for students who need assistance.
